Dear UBGF Club Members,
I want to thank you for the opportunity to
serve as your new President. I will do my best
to help continue the growth and prosperity of the UBGF.
I am honored!
We just finished our successful All-Age
Championship Run-off. There were 243 entries,
for an increase of 18 entries vs. last year.
Thank you for your continued support. We can
never thank the judges, marshals, kitchen crew,
Butler
Co. B.C.
membership, sponsors (Purina and Tritronics),
and fellow board members, enough for all of their hard work and
support in order to make this trial such a success.
There is approximately $15,500 in our tractor fund.
Some of our land is getting a little “woody”, and we feel
that we need a tractor with at least 50 hp, a front end loader and a
very good 6’ bush hog. We need to bush hog
approximately 1/3 of our land, timely, each year.
We need a few thousand more dollars in our UBGF tractor fund
to enable this. We would certainly appreciate
any donations, and thank you for any consideration.
I have established a “Regional Run-Off Feasibility Committee”,
comprised of committee chairman Mike Mooney, working with Dean
Moorhouse, George
Pirman, Ronnie Kilgore and Dan Gordon.
The purpose of this feasibility study is not to compete with our
National All-Age Run-Off in any manner, but to offer an opportunity
for our members in the far east, south, north and west to
participate in a Regional Run-Off when the National Run-Off might be
too far and difficult to attend. This committee
will give their recommendations to the UBGF board at the next
Derby National Run-Off.
If it is well received, it will be presented to the UBGF
delegates at the next annual business meeting.
Your board also pledges to improve communications with you and your
clubs on this website. Each board member will be
giving reports regarding their responsibilities.
As your President, I will post a minimum of 3 letters a year.
A letter will follow after both of our National Run-Offs and
one after the annual meeting.
